Makehuman+ZBrush+Blender+Indigo

Postby BbB » Thu Mar 06, 2008 10:30 am

Hi guys,
I've been using Makehuman to create ZBrush base meshes lately. It works pretty well, although the mesh needs some work before you can start sculpting (too many triangles, which ZBrush doesn't like, and some overly elongated quads on the arms, mainly, which need subdividing). Having said that, I find it's a huge timesaver to create posed base meshes with the right proportions.
Here's one attempt (environment, clothing, hair and texturing all done in Blender and ZBrush and render in Indigo). Let me know what you think.

BbB,

This is just fantastic stuff !!! Really amazing.
I would love to learn Blender, but I don' have the time unfortunately.

As a Sketchup user myself, I would rather see an option to make clothes and hair from within Makehuman .

Cheers and congrats with these images,

Thanks Mate. Very much appreciated.
I'm a great fan of yours - as I said before. I love your architecture images. To me it's about the best stuff I've seen coming out of sketchup.
Best,

as i have tried and tried and tried again but nothing comes even close to how
your work looks,
I am quite new to the scene and any help you give would be greatly appreciated

Hi Texanhammer,
Sorry I took so long to respond. I did the clothing by selecting some edge loops on the body mesh, duplicating them and turning them into a new object. This gave me the broad outline of the garment. The rest was just extruding, pushing and pulling polys to make sure the cloth fitted. Not to mention quite a bit of sculpting in ZBrush for the shirt. By and large, though, I would say the quickest way is to start by duplicating bits of your body mesh and then work from there.
