P.S. to the last post:
I forgot to mention that the idea for the rain came from Punkduck, as he wrote about the lack of rain in Europe this season. I know it won't be of any help in the real world but I thought that the sight of a beautiful woman under a summer shower could cheer you guys up a bit.
And sorry for the occasional errors in my english... as you know, it's not my native language.

Most of the forum members are no native english speakers.

yes, we also had some raindrops in between. Approximately as much, as you have created on your girl
For the wetness you can use a wetmap with e.g. white for dry skin and black for wet skin. Mindfront has done something like that to create glossy lips and eye area (tears).
Then you have to paint the "flow path" ... you only have different gloss then. I tried it a few minutes ago, but it was mirroring the environment map too much and it also can't be used for drops. I tried to use the wet map also as a bump map (black means high, white low), but this was even worse, it looked like a skin disease then

But nevertheless she looks pretty without the flow paths ... or whatever these things are called.

Wetmap is one more thing (among many others) I still have to learn about blender. If only I had the patience to stick to the learning curve instead of jumping steps...
My solution was the simplest one: I just dropped the roughness of the glossy shader down to 0. I'm still not using the principled bsdf for the skin, for no particular reason besides laziness. Not using SSS also, another item on the "things to learn" list.

Late but nevertheless, welcome! It is always nice to see other artists creations and it's a great inspiration source.
Elyn, a very beautiful name, really looks like her name :D And your images does her justice.

It's easy to be addicted by Blender and MakeHuman. All possibilities, always something new around the corner, an Blender universe :ugeek:

Pirata_62 wrote:I really did use this same model (only without hair) as a space girl in other renders, but that will be another post.
Promise?

But aging stops about 26, atleast I think so.

It's easy to wander about, stumble in the dark and trip over small or large details. Especially when wanting to do something and not know how, where to start and where to stop. We have all been there and still is. At least I have trouble with where to stop.

One step at a time. Keep it simple and learn the basics. Blender interface can be a bit like a space shuttle cockpit but after a while you will learn where to find what you want, a great help is to learn the basic key shortcuts, at the beginning I never thought I would learn more than copy, past and undo but after a while, I started using keyboard shortcuts without even knowing about it. And I have never and still is not using keyboard shortcuts in any other software (other than previously mentioned).

Please, continue post your art :D

Thank you very much, Mindfront! Everybody is being so kind to me here, I'm really glad.
About the space girl renders (and I have a cavegirl too), I'm not really sure if I can post them here, because there's some (a lot of) nudity involved.
I know there have been nudity before in other topics, but I also read in a thread sometime ago (don't remember exactly which one) that this is a family friendly community. There's nothing sexual about my renders, not even erotic, it's only the model and the scenery (maybe one or two other characters in non-sexual situations), but I'm afraid that some people might consider nudity offensive. As I am new to the community I don't want to offend anybody. So I guess I better let that to you guys, specially admins and moderators, to decide.
If it's ok to post, I'll open another thread with a nudity warning in the title. If not, I'll go on with my portraits of Elyn and others in this one here.
Or at least try to convince my elf girls to get dressed... :) :?:

I learned Blender exactly the way you do. I knew about cloth simulation before I even learned some basics about Edit Mode. This might be the least efficient way to learn Blender, but I had some fun. Fun is important when it comes to learning complicated stuff.

Well, this is a peaceful place. We try to treat each other with respect and expect to be treated the same way. Most of us (if not all) are not interested in driving people like you away. I'm interested in seeing your work.

There' an official statement about your concerns:
http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/FAQ:Is_it_ok_to_share_NSFW_imagery_on_the_forums%3F
As long as your work isn't against the (Swedish) law, it shouldn't be a problem.
Pirata_62 wrote:but I'm afraid that some people might consider nudity offensive.

Some people consider an uncovered female face in public as offensive and some others might consider using electric power as the straight way to hell. Nobody get's forced to watch your work.
Pirata_62 wrote:If it's ok to post, I'll open another thread with a nudity warning in the title.

I'm neither admin nor moderator, but as far as I know the rules, this should be ok.

Well, I can't help feeling a bit silly about all this, but still... I think it was better to ask before offending someone.
I don't know the laws of Sweden, but I believe there's nothing against them in my scenes.
That settled, I guess my space girl and her friends will prepare to land in another thread.
In the meantime, I leave you with a different angle of Elyn's "photoshoot".

I've so far never redacted or censored or become upset over anything related to nudity anyone posted on the forums.

And you won't beat Grinsegold's provocative but very amusing art even if you try :-)

Hi everybody...
Thanks for your answer, joepal!
I like Grinsegold's work very much! And you're right: my work is not even a bit as provocative as his...
I'm just making new renders (with a higher resolution) for some of my pictures I liked, and remaking or fixing the ones I didn't (most of them were supposed to be only tests).
And, of course, I couldn't lose the opportunity to apply to my girls those fantastic Mindfront's new targets. Thank you Mindfront, they're really great!

Try this: leave the rain drops as spheres (with is what they normally form into as they fall) but then join them all as a single object in Blender. Then move them up just out of camera view in frame one. Hover your mouse over the location box and hit the 'i' key to create a key frame. Then advance to frame 48. Move the rain drops to just below the camera range and create another key frame. Then click the 'Motion Blur' box in the render tab. Then go to frame 24 and render it. You should get good rain drops with a good motion blur seemingly stretched out as they fall.
