I am mostly working on new makeclothes version 2 at the moment. But I still got some time to do arts. Elvaerwyn did a mermaid outfit/assets. These assets I rigged on a special skeleton, so that the maid can be posed. I promised Elv, to do a picture with that mermaid. So many thanks Elv, also for textures and node setup, they do a great effect.

I combined fantasy with reality and took a serious topic.

Some words about the technique: When you look at the picture especially the French but also most of the Europeans will remember this shipwreck in the background. The ship (remains of the Amoco Cadiz) is a transparent plane hovering somewhere in front of the environment picture with a little motion blur. The stones and the garbage I did with blender.

Love the rusty barrels and I even remember the "Amoco Cadiz" from this side of the pond :D

Enjoy the Choice :)

I wish a peaceful winter time for everyone. I made a render with Elvaerwyn's winter clothes (jacket, pants, shoes, hat, scarf), she created a beautiful set. A big "Thank you" for the work to my Canadian friend. She really knows what winter means ... in my country winter is normally rainy and meanwhile mostly without snow (except for mountain-regions). I only changed the colors of the clothes to make them look more vintage and added mittens, vintage skis and ski-poles. I did a small winter-landscape also.

Edit: I had to re-upload it. Some issues with the scarf ;)

So both works, you can either send pictures or we can ask for them. Well I was a programmer before, but not python, only C and perl. Fortunately my company wants to do also programing in python and uses gitlab. Sometimes it simply fits. The problem is less the programming language. It is more to understand mathematics for computer graphics. The problem is: I finished studies of that when Germany had reunification. So approximately about 100 years ago

Hi folks,

New topic: the fifties. In my country it was a new beginning. After the war the influence of the allies grew, Germans again remember "Bauhaus" style (not everyone of course, it was sth. between being conservative and modern), but also the first "globalization" took place. Again I worked together with my Canadian friend Elvaerwyn. It was really interesting to compare what was different and what was similar in this time when we compared North America and middle of Europe. Partly we had completely different views and sometimes it was nearly identical.

So I thought: Was it possible in those times when a Canadian and German will do sth. together? Any kind of social media? Sharing music and ideas as we do today? Well it was not really possible...

But okay it was in a totally different way. So here is my story:

My character Dani should be a German girl, she is writing a letter to her friend, a Canadian. No he is not in Canada. Of course it would be possible to reach him with that good old W48 phone on the desk and a lot of money. The letter would take a few weeks or she had to send it via airmail on special light-weight paper.

But Canadian army was stationed in Germany after WW2. And so Dani was able to get some goods from over the big pond. It is June 1956, at the wall a Studebaker calendar, the magazine "Radio Mirror" (of course one month old) on the table. A Bill Haley record is on the player. And she must be rather lucky to have her own radio and also a telephone or it is daddy's room

The truth is, we had people living in barracks still. The real economic growth just started and did not reach everyone in 1956. The radio was the equivalent to more than a monthly wage.

Thank you Elv for:

  • the extremly stylish dress
  • the cool curtains
  • the wallpaper

All furniture, lamps and equipment was made for this scene. Some research was needed ... it was before I was born, hopefully all fits to the time.

Well 1956 was the year I was born. But I don't remember much about furniture, lamps and equipment from that year. Just the memory of seeing my mother's face for the first time.

Hi

I was quite lazy the last two weeks, but I will continue with some of the 50s assets. So here is another render with Dani which also shows the 50s dress of my friend Elv in a better way!

A hint for the younger ones: people did not have mp3 in that time. This record is only able to contain approx 1 hour of music and the sound of the loud speaker of this old "radio-monster" is more hifi than the crap you get from a smartphone.

the time before mp3 and smartphone ...

to be continued ;)
