A different genre of music but awhile ago I played around with the motion capture bvh of a Japanese girl band:

Not what you are looking for I'm sure but it can be fun to play with.

Well it is more for dance, but I will check it out ... thank you.

Btw.: especially Japan is a country with a very interesting music scene for really every genre. I guess only few people in Europe or North America are aware of it.

I listened to a concert of Shonen Knife in Hanover long time ago. Or maybe someone could convince this band (if they still exist) to do a few bvhs as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rW8gu0fZbM, this is one of my genres (shoegazer) :)

When you talk face shot and emotion of effort you remind me of classic Janis Joplin singing. I know, a different era ... But to me, the singing (loud or not) doesn't get more real. Still one of my all time favorites.

Or poorer quality old video, but perhaps a few more whole body examples:

Yes, one video says: 1968 in Germany, little punk-duckling was 5 years old in those times and singing(?) children's songs (now everyone can calculate my age). ;)

e.g. at 2:06, it must not be loud for the effort. To sustain a note is another reason ...

Without Janis, but also Joan Jett, Patti Smith, Suzi Quattro and Debbie Harry (and of course others I forgot to mention) women in music would still be "nice looking girls singing something" without being important. At lot of people are not aware that music was mainly male dominated before. A good article starting with classic music, jazz, blues, rock, metal and also showing the independent parts (punk, riot grrl) with a lot of links is here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women_in_music

The quality of the example videos was also my problem. I looked for other female fronted bands I heard in the past, but a video with a quality of 244 pixel width is really awful. Some of the bands are still playing and there are new videos available. But they are playing the same stuff as in "those times" and look like a bunch of bored housewives now (to be fair: I also changed a bit in between :? ) ... very convincing , some of them should change e.g. the songs about drugs to songs about "weight problems" :( .

So I decided to take the band from Croatia.

I guess you didn't know Xiao's daughter Nayka, she is 3 years old. (Well that is, what MakeHuman told me, when I saved her 8-) ).

This time I was too lazy to do own clothes. When I saw MargaretToigo's "Baby Jumper" I decided, that not only Leska should have a son, but also Xiao should not be alone.
So thank you to Mindfront for the beach dress and to MargaretToigo (even if you say it is CC0, is absolutely worth to mention it ;)) for these assets.

Obviously MargaretToigo had the same problems with her Baby Jumper as I had with my one (baby romper). Creating clothes on the "baby-dummy" requires own vertex groups for the arms, otherwise the jumper will not really follow the arms but will stay near the torso when you pose the character. I tried it a few times, but then I gave up and created the four groups manually. For this picture I only changed the weights manually.

Maybe I will also do a scene in future where the kids will play together.

Thanks for the link. I'll have to try these BVH files.

This is a very good example to prove why cuts are essential for good music videos. This video doesn't have a single one, at least as long as I managed to watch. Two additional cameras to do close-ups and catch guitar solos would have been a different story. This way I got bored although I generally like the band. The video was recorded more than six years ago and Youtube says that it's been watched 94 times.

That is, because it is a private video recorded from a friend or relative and not an official one. Unfortunately I didn't find the other videos, where the bandname is only written in Japanese ... But this is the way I'm sometimes searching for this kind of stuff. And normally you are totally sure, that no nasty commercial will occur in YouTube, when the counter is less than 100

The perspective is the perspective of the spectator, which is the normal way for me, because I often joined live-acts on small stages.

For you I got a better video from the same band with part of a stage-recording in between. And the music in this video is less "my bloody valentine"-like ... (if you know what I mean ;) ) and it is "official" also ...

Btw.: Where did you see the guitar solo?

I'm aware of this fact. Anyway, using only one camera showing the whole stage leads to videos as exciting as those shot on holiday by a family member.

As a spectator you will move your head and eyes. You'll be focussing the singer for a moment. When you've seen enough you'll focus someone or something else. We do this all the time without being aware of. In a way you're editing your own personal video as a spectator.
punkduck wrote:Btw.: Where did you see the guitar solo?

Ok, not exactly a solo, but a part where the guitar is quite in front of the song.

In between I was in contact with Wolgade, he wants to create the dancing scene again, which was mentioned by blindsaypatten. I just got the first example of the new video with light effects etc., really great.

This time the girls should wear clothes, which shall fit to the performance. Since the performance is more or less "electro pop" (I could be wrong), we figured out, that we need something "spacy".

So I created a high neck crop top and a leggings with a special pattern ... similar to a real one, you can buy. I uploaded the clothes a few minutes ago. A white textured version with seams only is also available in the material section.

So here is Dani, presenting the clothes:

An interesting aspect: I never mentioned "spacy" to him, but always had this term on my mind. Quite surprisingly, he used exactly the word I was only thinking about, and presented exactly what I was looking for.

Do I have to mention, that I like the outfit? I don't think so. Thanks for reading my mind. :D
