Linux, on 3 PCs.

Windows only 1 laptop because it crashes too much but it's necessary for my son's university (they require it to be Windows, no choice allowed). Previous laptop got screwed over by a Microsoft update, and basically bricked.

I know i am late to the voting party, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in

Windows is my primary O.S. on my primary machine because it is easier to run games on, and I am integrated into the speech recognition.
Linux Mint is my primary on my alternate machine
Solus looks somewhat promising for the future

and of course, this is just my personal opinion, but apple/mac should not be bothered to be catered to. They will rip out core functionality from the o.s. and hardware and assume their 'cult' will keep paying more than double the price for less, and they do. you cannot bother with a company and o.s. that will rip the floor out from under you after your investment of time and effort as a developer

Linux Mint Cinnamon Una 20.2LTE on Samsung 870 EVO 500GB SSD with all updates running on Intel Xeon e3-1246v3 and 32GB of 1600MHz DDR3 and C622PCH with NVidia GTX960 with 4GB of DDR5. This machine dual boots Windows 7 Pro x64 on an Intel 540 240GB SSD. Both OSs browse with Waterfox Classic and Firefox. I have no problems in MakeHuman on Linux. I do not run it on Windows. DAZ and Poser run on that. This machine has been running Mint steady for about four years.

Just added my vote and it's Linux for me, too. These results are very promising for Linux, and very revealing regards the percentage of people now using Linux!
Just goes to show what complete and utter BS the various rigged surveys out there are talking!

This is my main workstation running Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.3 Una.

This runs on a custom built cube form factor microATX box powered by an 850watt Seasonic PSU, featuring a Xeon 1246v3 CPU cooled by Noctua and a Gigabyte GTX 960 GPU booting from a Samsung Evo 860 SSD with 500GB of storage space.

It is super fast. Running MH 1.2.0 on this machine is a breeze and so far, everything works as advertised. I could not be happier. It is as though MH was made to work best on Linux!

Well, everybody knows I am a Penguinista. However, I run older Apple and Windows 7 rigs, too. I stay away from newer Apple and Windows stuff because it appears to be growing ever more enshittified with each update. I hate social media with every fiber of my being, especially when it gets welded into the system without my permission nor control. It is my machine. It is not a billboard. It is also not an open forum server...

I have tested MakeHuman on these systems and it appears that Windows and MACOS do not like it. The program runs fine, but the rendering does not. I am not knowing why, but I suspect driver malarky. It seems that the two Big Tech brands are focused mostly on games and social pursuits grounded in a strong dose of AI. Yuck. And so, it appears that Linux rules, and it almost has half the share of votes. (Chewin' on Mint leaves, Boss...)

Linux has a critical flaw — very poor hardware support. For example, there are no drivers for this motherboard except Win 10/11.

I have installed Linux Mint Cinnamon on over a hundred machines in the last two years and none of them gave me issues. These included laptops, desktops, servers and Apples. Yes, Apples with Intel inside work just fine with Mint.

The only thing that I have had a problem with is this one Dell Precision T7500 with an NVidia Quadro M2000 which refuses to accelerate the hardware correctly. I believe it is not the fault of Linux, rather, a driver is to blame. That one is on NVidia, not Linux.

The T7500 is in my lab and is mine. So far, I have learned that the fix involves purging the existing driver and installing the official Linux Quadro one. The Linux repo list calls and installs the wrong driver during setup. Experienced users will know what to do, but beginners will be flammuxed and left with a machine that is crippled until the fix is carried out.

For most beginners, the terminal is very frightening... But then, the same can be said of Windows folks when confronted with real mode DOS full screen...

The problem is that there are no Linux drivers for this motherboard. They don't exist. I gave the link to prove it. Drivers appear when hardware becomes obsolete. On old hardware, Linux can often be installed. But if using the latest hardware, there is usually no choice.

This is usually the end of my attempts to get to know Linux — I get the latest hardware and can't find drivers for it from the manufacturer.
