Newbie can't run MakeHuman under Windows 11

Postby WilburPost » Wed Jun 26, 2024 2:54 pm

Hi all, I'm a MakeHuman newbie. When I run the Python code, this is the result:

Code: Select all
PS C:\Program Files\makehuman-community\makehuman> python makehuman.py
MakeHuman Copyright (C) 2001-2020 http://www.makehumancommunity.org
This program comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.
This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it
under certain conditions. For details use the option --license

C:\Program Files\makehuman-community\makehuman\lib\getpath.py:152: SyntaxWarning: invalid escape sequence '\D'
  value, type_ = "%USERPROFILE%\Documents", winreg.REG_EXPAND_SZ

No MakeHuman interface appears. I don't know enough about Python to make sense of this. Any suggestions? Thanks!

When installing in Windows, there is a launching shortcut like "makehuman-community" with the MakeHuman icon Image. This is what you should run.

Since you have found the program on your start menu, it can be added to your taskbar by right clicking the shortcut and selecting "Pin to Taskbar". This makes it much easier to find in the future.

I always put all my work icons on the taskbar and leave everything else on the start menu, no matter which OS I am running. I try to get all my gear to be MAC like. It makes them very easy and fun to use.
