It was my impression that it's possible to use linux docker containers on windows (WSL), but that the other way around was not possible? I dual-boot to windows when absolutely necessary, but otherwise I use linux for everything I do.

Wow, you're right--apparently a Windows Docker won't run on Linux. That never would have occurred to me, but apparently the Windows people put some real effort into making things work the other way around.
