Working with alpha 2

Postby joepal » Thu Nov 29, 2018 9:36 am

I've started release notes for alpha 2. We're still some way from this being released, but if you're curious you can follow what is changing from alpha 1:

I'm currently toying with the idea of releasing alpha 2 soonish to fix some of the easily fixable problems in alpha 1, primarily the exceptionally slow initial synchronizing of the asset downloader. After that, we'll have to deal with the huge problem of MH not working on many graphics cards, and that will take some time to fix.

Just waiting on feedback before doing a last merge now. I'll probably release alpha 2 during the weekend, or monday at the latest.

Graphics issues won't be adressed in this release, so if alpha 1 didn't work for you then alpha 2 won't either.

But we picked off a bunch of low hanging fruits that might make the ride smoother for other users.

I'm particularly satisfied with the update in the asset downloader that now makes it possible to download materials for core assets and have them be correctly placed and show up for said assets.
