General call for collaboration on "Diver"

This is how far i got until i got tired. How far can you get?

http://www.makehumancommunity.org/content/diver_needs_help.html

@Punkduck:
-i haven't tested makecloth on 2.79 either. I did not even spend a thought on that ( i should have - we're talking about 2.79!).
-Yep, i like to create organic forms by using subsurfed geometry in a way that you couldn't take less vertices to get the shape. That way i seem to get the cleanest design. Feel free to finalize it (by applying the modifier). I just keep it in nondistructive mode as long as possible.
-I already made a weight belt, but modern sets store them in pockets at the hip-part of the BC (the backpack-thingy which you use to control vertical drift). Did you find older forms of sets? How did they dive 30 years ago? Maybe i should watch a bondfilm from then.
-This is a rare occasion where i don't have a plan. I get older and start enjoying doing nice pictures without a message. I want to see a diver. Nice greens and blues. Maybe a darker mid area, maybe with an indication of terrifying revolverteeth ;) So i can't tell you where to go with it. I guess one could per se favor a design that has enough detail levels to be believable, but on the other side so lightweight that it could never be the weak link in a video production chain. On the other hand i already set a direction by inventing a form for the mask. This is clearly not the late 50's. If you hate modern diving, go ahead and delete the mask.
-Usually the fins have a hole for the toes, but maybe this is a future design, where the opening is on the other side for a better toepressure? I admit, i made them first and looked up afterwards how they actually look. I just haven't done it yet :)
-Yeah!

I first thought you are using 2.79 because of the shader, the normal colors of helper etc. are very simple, the thing you are using is an universal shader isn't it?
But okay, so no need to update ...

Hmm, historic diving, sounds interresting. Well I'm older as well, but as a kid I watched this guy in TV:

http://www.sportalsub.net/blog/2010/06/11/natalicio-100-jaques-yves-cousteau/

He (or his team) was inventing a new scuba cylinder but also uses the good old ones. He started in the 40s with short films and continued filming up to the seventies, then his son was continuing the work, I think.

Maybe I can get my inspiration when I watch a few of the earlier pictures, I know that lots of them are even black-and-white pictures.

And Cousteau looks like a typical French guy, who is able to smoke a Gauloises even under water . Before the French users will blame me for this statement: I liked him and his films, otherwise I would not remember him even today.

The holes in the flippers are so the don't fall off your feet when they fill up with water ;) remember watching Jacques on TV on this side of the Atlantic as well he did invent the scuba regulator which allowed the first free dives and a few patents on underwater cameras.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Ah, J.Y. Cousteau, I remember watching him a long time ago. I also recall some (then) experimental face gear that allowed a diver to talk while underwater.

Your basic diver's rig would in that sense also serve as a foundation for a future astronaut's BioSuit. https://www.space.com/27210-biosuit-ski ... mages.html

Great the geometry of the Diver is nearly completed.

Additionally I found this: http://divermag.com/dive-gear-now-and-then/ ...

I downloaded it again. I first thought, that the position of the seams aren't the best, but meanwhile I figured out, that the position is quite identical to the "real seams". Unfortunately I didn't find much pictures of the "vintage" versions Cousteau is wearing. At least he has had a similar black one with yellow stripes. I hope I can supply a version at the weekend. Problem is, believe it or not, there are these Christmas parties over here and I have to join them because of the beer ...

While I lift a sniffer of single malt scotch to all our members during this season.

Enjoy the Choice :)

A shot of scotch chased by a lager while wishing for Tullamore Dew instead: to the season.

I'm glad to hear that. But if you find a better solution, please use it. I've up'ed a pair of beta-items:
http://www.makehumancommunity.org/clothes/diver_01_suit_beta_19122017.html
http://www.makehumancommunity.org/clothes/diver_01_scuba_rig_beta_19122017.html

I'm quite happy with the deformation of the hoses, but the mask moves when in a pose, and the flippers need weight painting. The lead-belt is terrible. I would do a new one if i needed a diver. The harness plate sinks into the body because it is a rigid item. I plan to add the tags "Sport" and "Unsorted" if i don't forget. I'm busy atm...

But happy whatever to you all!
