New intro anim

Postby joepal » Thu Aug 03, 2017 10:52 am

As I'm thinking about making a few new tutorial videos and the old intro anim is only available in low resolution, I'm working on a new intro.

This is the first early draft. Any suggestions for improvements?

I think it's a bit irritating to make the iconized human (the "H") appear behind the real human. It attracts attention, but you can't see it because this guy is in the way. I'd suggest not to show the "H" at this stage.

Just very few thoughts that I instatly had when I saw the animation.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll change that for the next draft.

Is that a fetal pose at the beginning? Very nice idea. But the embryo has to be more of an embryo at the start. And the wireframe is too cheesy. Finer bars, more knots, maybe (because you have no embryo, have you?) you could even start from a particle cloud, twisted by a forcefield, that settles to the wireframe right after the embryo stage. But in this first second, there is only light emitting wireframe, without shading, to show that it's all just data, just vertices in a grid. Then it gets shaded, materialized, then skinned. And it ends with a light effect on the eyes, like in the film production jingles. Oh, and wolgade is true. At least let the sign fade from the front, not the back.

Hmm... Maybe it'd be possible to import the male-universal-child target as a shape key somehow and animate its power during the transition?

Or maybe I should simply announce a monthly-contest thingy for an intro animation and see what everyone else comes up with. :-)

Animating a shape key is easy, but you'd have to grow the rig at the same time. No idea how this could be done.

Since I find most porn hilarious, you almost gave me heart failure from laughing so hard. Chest still hurts.

Try this: open a category page of a porn site. Close your eyes and click as arbitrary as possible. If you are less than eight out of ten times rejected by what you see, i don't wanna be your partner. I'm quite sure we both don't want that anyway, but you know what i mean. The world is absolutely krank! I thought i was rotten to the core... it's the opposite - i play in the spongebob leage.

Perhaps my reasoning process regarding porn is different, but the end result is fairly similar to what you've expressed.

When humans are attempting to procreate (what the English would likely term conjugal unpleasantness in public) they are vulnerable. What they're doing often looks ridiculous. Having lived on a farm, there is little if any difference between what people are doing versus what other animals are doing.

Porn simply takes procreation and / or any shared experience and exaggerates the act(s) in ways that become a lampoon or parody of a normal function. What makes it funny is how unnatural it is, normally without having the horrific undertones of a car or train wreck. Add in that unless someone craves attention (and / or money) some activities are meant to be done in private.

As a writer I attempt to elicit an intellectual and / or emotional response from my readers. My work has a storyline, a plot, and I hope characters that allow the reader to suspend disbelief at least momentarily. Erotica is something I don't do, though it normally has a storyline, a plot, and hopefully characters that allow the reader to suspend disbelief at least momentarily. Porn (something else I don't do) is all about the action with virtually no real plot or logical storyline, and as artificial as the characters are only disbelief is possible.

My tastes behind closed doors and curtains tends to be what the Wife and I agree on, and neither of us is into extremes. Love should never involve going to the ER to get stitches, unless childbirth is involved. But I also get where you're coming from.

And seriously, my chest was hurting from laughing earlier.
