How to make a Wig Rig

Now I know how much everyone here loves particle hair, but there are times when it's more feasible and practical to use mesh hair.
One of the big problems with mesh hair is control it in an animation.

So, with that in mind, here is how you can 'rig' a wig and then parent it to the body armature. This allows you to build a model with as many wigs as you like.

I'll try to keep this as simple as possible. The first and most important step is to duplicate the head bone, and separate it out as a new object. Be very careful not to change its rotation or location. Then, using shift + alt + ctrl + c set the origin to center of mass of the hair mesh. Use ctrl + p for automatic weighting. Then parent the wig rid to the body rig.

After that, just follow the settings in the screenshots:

That's pretty cool. But, now how do I export it for use in MakeHuman?

MH would not be able to show any movement of the rig at all so this was never intended for integration in MH besides you seen to forget that makehuman is designed as a starting point not the end point of a character creation flow.

Enjoy the Choice :)

If you are looking to animate hair, in Blender, there are probably tutorial videos on YouTube. Most are probably not on using the MakeHuman rig. If you didn't see it, there is an example on a scratch built character rig linked down in Off Topic.

Right. But then, what if I've made just normal hair, and I want to import it into MakeHuman as an option?
