Could you post a screen shot of your new node setup like the results your getting.

Enjoy the Choice :)

I hope this can help. I tried some other values. Especially the SSS-scale factor changed drastically after i placed a strong additional lamp behind the head to see the SSS effect at the ears.
Oh, and there's no arrow pointing at the changed roughness value of the glossy-node.

Thx for the link just grabbed the freebies :) they should be a bit easier to set up as for the full hdrLabs ones you need the background, environment and refection hdr's though the background can be a high resolution png.

MickySSSskin-blonde-normalmap-200.png

First use of the SSS shader noticed that it uses the experimental cycles kernel with blender 2.76b hopefully it will use the standard kernel soon this render also has an added normal map for hair that I baked a while ago as well as a blonde color texture put together with krita rendered on my laptop at 200 samples still with some fireflies but acceptable.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Nice face! A bit like Scarlett Johannson. Have you tried ro change MHs default roughness-value for the glossiness of the eyes? Try 0.050 for example. Should make the eyes more vivid.

I love the tutorial, wish there were talking though. The only problem I find with the tutorial (or it maybe with me) is when you add the layer weight you begin to adjust the lvls with the color ramp & you hit some shortcut that I can't find for the life of me that allows you to add this elusive viewer node that lets you see your results real-time. WHAT IS THAT HOT KEY PLEASE? I've hit every key combination I can think of, looked in the drop-down menus for the node editor but ziltch. Please help me. Also crazybump is a great way to generate spec, norm, displa & diffuse maps. I'd like to see your results with these as I used them but am not sure if I skipped a step because I didn't use the color ramp there.

You need to activated the node wrangler add-on. It is packed with the recent versions of Blender. IIRC it is ctrl + alt + left click. In fact the viewer node is nothing more then a emission shader.
